Clooney has invested an undisclosed amount in a proposed $3 billion development called Las Ramblas to be built just east of the heart of the Las Vegas Strip.

They have paid $18,000 to shave a woman's head and permanently tattoo `GoldenPalacePoker.com', the website of the popular online poker room, on her bare cranium.

The eBay seller, Molly Demers, will be wearing the casino's brand on the top and back of her bald head for one year.

The World Trade Organization (WTO) has given the United States until April to clarify its laws permitting Internet betting on horse racing but banning all other types of online gambling.

Washington hopes the clarification will end the long-running trade dispute with the tiny Caribbean island nation of Antigua, which is attempting to rebuild its hurricane ravished economy with online casinos.

Don't bet on it being resolved anytime soon, experts say.

The NBA has selected Las Vegas to host the 2007 All-Star Game, according to Terry Jicinsky, senior vice president of marketing at the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA), which has been bidding for the event.

A new Deutsche Bank study of the northern Nevada gambling market is pitching Reno as "the biggest little locals market in the world."

"Even though the gaming market in Reno has remained soft over the past 10 years, we see a silver lining that goes unnoticed," said Deutsche Bank analyst Marc Falcone. "We believe further development of newer and high-quality properties is in the cards and likely to generate above-market returns (for investors)."

The Schwarzenegger administration is willing to consider restoring $20 million in tribal gambling money for Riverside, Tulare and other counties after vetoing the funding Monday, two Coachella Valley legislators said Wednesday.

After meeting with administration officials, Sen. Jim Battin, R-La Quinta, and Assemblywoman Bonnie Garcia, R-Cathedral City, said they were optimistic there is a good chance the money can be restored this year.
