RENO, Nev. (AP) -- International Game Technology, a maker of gaming and video lottery equipment, on Wednesday said it bought its Canadian distributor Hi-Tech Gaming for an undisclosed sum.
The acquired company will become a new sales and service unit called IGT-Canada Inc. Most of Hi-Tech's 43 workers joined the new unit Jan. 1, while principals Owen MacNeil and Bill Hennessey will be consultants.
International Game sales director Duane Frahm was named managing director of IGT-Canada, and will work at the unit's Toronto office. Other Hi-Tech offices in Moncton, Montreal and Winnipeg will become IGT-Canada offices.
International Game Technology shares fell 25 cents, or less than 1 percent, to $33.55 on the New York Stock Exchange in morning trading.
