Donald Trump has a new hobby

Ivana. Marla. Melania. These are the names of his wives. But the melodrama Friday was strictly scripted for Donald Trump.

Never one to hide his light beneath a bushel, the consummate dealmaker and master showman jumped from "real" reality television to the more traditional fictionalized version. Yes, the star attraction of General Electric's NBC smash The Apprentice is appearing on a soap opera.

NBC's Days of Our Lives on Friday taped an episode featuring the larger-than-life billionaire. The undoubtedly thrilling installment is set to air Oct. 24, according to the network.

Sheraton Kalouria, senior vice president of the broadcaster's daytime operations, is "thrilled." The VP said in a statement that, "[Trump] intimately knows drama from his many business ventures to his weekly boardrooms on The Apprentice. Little does he know that the drama on Days of Our Lives is often more intense!"

Oh, come now, Sheraton. Can a mere soap opera, with its operatic stable of affairs, conspiracies, kidnappings, murders and ubiquitous evil twins, truly compete with Trump's reality?
